Amid accelerating global energy transition imperatives and intensifying climate destabilization, the reconfiguration of energy systems through equity-centered frameworks has emerged as a critical determinant of sustainable human development. Interdisciplinary Energy Judgement & Transition Studies (IEJTS, E-ISSN: 3120-3892), an international open-access journal, bridging environmental sciences, social sciences, engineering, and policy analytics. We advance rigorous scholarship to interrogate the justice dimensions of low-carbon transitions while fostering inclusive knowledge exchange among researchers, policymakers, and civil society stakeholders.

IEJTS investigates the multidimensional nexus between energy judgement paradigms and decarbonization trajectories, prioritizing submissions that address:

I. Theoretical Innovations:

Epistemological frameworks for energy judgement, distributive-procedural-recognitive justice dynamics, and decolonial critiques of transition governance.

II. Socio-Technical Systems:

Equity implications of clean energy technologies, carbon-negative technologies, and smart infrastructure deployment.

III. Structural Inequalities:

Energy poverty alleviation strategies, labor rights in extractive/transition industries, and gendered/racialized impacts of energy policies.

IV. Governance & Sovereignty:

Subnational-to-global climate accountability mechanisms, energy sovereignty discourses, and transnational equity-oriented cooperation frameworks.

V. Participatory Transitions:

Community-led energy democratization experiments, inclusive project co-design methodologies, and art-based engagement for climate action.

VI. Systemic Transformations:

Multi-scalar energy coupling analyses, just transition policy modeling, and resilience-oriented energy system architectures.

Open Access: This journal operates under a "gold" Open Access model, providing free access to all readers.  The Article Processing Charges (APC) for all article types (research, review, case reports) is $0, and the content will be published under a CC BY 4.0. To encourage submissions and support the research community, IEJTS currently levies no APC (0 APC). For specific APC policies, please refer to the Open Access Policies.

Processing Cycle: The manuscript processing cycle is approximately 12 weeks from submission to acceptance.

Recognition of Reviewers: reviewers who provide timely, thorough peer-review reports receive vouchers entitling them to a discount on the APC of their next publication in IEJTS, in appreciation of the work done.
